NES GADOL: A GREAT MIRACLE                          LETTER TO ETHIOPIA

TALAK TAEMER

OUR LETTER OF INTRODUCTION
TO THE ETHIOPIAN GOVERNMENT

To: The Ministry of Woman’s Affairs:

I would like to briefly introduce you to our family. We are Sheryl Daija and Ron James. We met each other on Jan 13, 2008 and one year to the date, we married on Jan 13, 2009. We feel blessed to have found one another and more than ever want to add a little boy from Ethiopia to our happy and healthy union.

As we met at a time when we cannot have our own children biologically, we feel privileged that the opportunity exists for us to adopt our son from Ethiopia. This honor will help us complete our family and we intend to bring love, security and opportunity to our little boy.

We think of Ethiopia as a country rich in heritage, tradition and culture. We believe that adopting from your country is a reciprocal process in that our son will adopt our country and we will adopt our son’s country. We intend to maintain our son’s racial identity and make him proud of his birth country. We will do this through educating him on the history and present, by incorporating Ethiopian culture in his dress and by including décor throughout our home that is representative.

We believe that our immediate and extended family will open their hearts to our son. Every child in this world deserves a loving family and we want to do our part in providing at least one child a permanent and loving home. We make a commitment to you that we will never abandon or abuse our child and that we will raise him with full rights of any birth child. He will be our son in all ways.

We hope to be the best parents we can be, offering our son all the opportunities he would need, and raise him to be proud of who he is and where he comes from.
